About the Role
Reporting directly to the Manager, Airport Facility Projects, the Structural Integrity Manager will manage for LaGuardia Airport the Quality Assurance Division (QAD) Inspection program, support the Tenant Construction and Alteration Process (TCAP) Office and provide oversight of Facility Construction Support Division (FCSD) initiatives.
Additional Information:
The successful candidate must be able to pass a fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check as mandated by 49 CFR 1542 and will be required to obtain and maintain an Airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) ID card.
This position requires the successful candidate to work outside normal work hours and expeditiously report to the airport in response to structural emergencies on a 24/7 basis.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Structural Integrity Program for LaGuardia Airport including the coordination of the cyclical inspection program at the facility level.
- Manage Post Construction Annual Inspections for Fire Protection and Vertical Transportation at the facility Level.
- Ensure that all facility staff inspections are performed in a timely fashion, deficiencies are communicated to the responsible parties, resultant corrective activities are completed, and appropriate records are maintained.
- Work with the Quality Assurance Division (QAD) of the Engineering Department to address facility emergencies requiring use of the Immediate Repair contractor.
- Coordinate and provide representation for LaGuardia Airport with Engineering, in concert with the LGA Project Management Group, to ensure that design and construction issues identified by QAD are satisfactorily resolved.
- Prepare repair cost data for Port Authority property damage and provide the same to the Law Department.
- Serve as the facility point of contact for structural integrity corrective efforts conducted by the Facility Construction Support Division (FCSD).
- Assist with the administration of Tenant Alteration Applications (TAAs) and Minor Work Applications (MWAs) for LaGuardia Airport, ensuring that tenant leasehold modifications are performed within the established requirements of the Tenant Construction and Alteration Process (TCAP) Manual and Tenant Construction Review Manual (TCRM).
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Architecture or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in inspection of structures, facility maintenance, project management, budget development and/or asset management.
- Experience in developing complex strategies within airport maintenance, facilities, and asset management.
- Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating design efforts and/or construction activities.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite.
Desired Qualifications
Ideal candidates will present the following profile:
- Structural Engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience with, and knowledge of, Port Authority procedures and capital and operating authorization processes related to project development, implementation and management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Port Authority's TCAP process and PA code compliance review procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with others to effectuate program workload effectively utilizing limited available resources.
- Demonstrated strong managerial skills to provide requisite oversight for multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience interacting with diverse groups, including engineering, maintenance, tenants and vendors as well as executive Management within and outside the Port Authority.
- Knowledge of software application Trimble (e-Builder) and Project Management Information Systems.
