About the Internship
The Aviation Security Central Office Unit is responsible for the strategic oversight, coordination, and compliance of aviation security programs across all Port Authority airports. The unit plays a vital role in ensuring the effectiveness of security operations and supports the consistent implementation of best practices to safeguard our passengers, employees, and airport facilities.
Responsibilities
- Review, monitor and track in-line baggage and CCTV Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) invoices to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
- Prepare and submit monthly revenue accruals to the Comptrollers Department which includes the review and processing of invoices
- Assist in the preparation of the multi-million and year Aviation Security budget
- Provide support in the planning and coordination of annual security training courses
- Compose PowerPoint presentations on Airport ID Card data processing times
- Compose detailed meeting minutes for various security meetings
- Conduct research of TSA security regulations and industry best practices.
- Perform additional tasks as requested to include white papers, Power Point presentations, etc.

Minimum Qualifications
- Enrollment at a college/university through the duration of the internship
- Major in Aviation management, Criminal Justice, Security, Public Administration, or a related discipline
- Minimum GPA of 2.7
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to draft/edit documents to include bulletins, white papers, etc.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Customer service skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent written and communication skills
Internship Details
- The start date is expected to be in September or October
- This internship will require a minimum of 20 hours per week, but can go up to 36.25 hours per week
- The format is expected to be primarily in-person, but some remote days may be possible

Compensation & Benefits
- The hourly rate range is $18.07 to $27.89 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
