The Opportunity
 
We are looking for an accomplished Client Accountant to join our Fiduciary department as part of our financial services business in Amsterdam.
 
As part of the global expansion of the Maples Group’s financial services offering, our Amsterdam office opened its doors in 2015. We have achieved good growth since with the Maples infrastructure and network supporting us to deliver the best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide alongside our colleagues in legal services.
 
The Client Accountant supports the Fiduciary department. Providing assistance and independently undertaking a number of routine accounting mandates and the administration of a portfolio of clients as directed by the Vice Presidents and the Senior Vice President.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Developing balance sheets, profit-and-loss accounts and annual reports;
  • Executing and maintaining financial administration for multiple international clients;
  • Working closely with finance and legal colleagues as well as with external parties such as accountants, law firms and tax advisors;
  • Analyzing financial and fiscal data to create both internal and external financial reports and statements;
  • Assisting with transaction monitoring;
  • Assisting team portfolio with accounting side of annual compliance reviews.
Requirements:
In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:
  • Previous accounting experience (2 - 4 years) ideally gained in a Trust/Fiduciary company or financial services company in the Netherlands;
  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or equivalent;
  • Want to succeed, grow, be challenged and challenge others;
  • Strong communication skills and work well in a team;
  • Dutch GAAP and/or IFRS knowledge;
  • Fluent English is required;
  • Dutch would be an advantage.
