Visual Storytelling Specialist - Claims Marketing Communications

The senior marketing communications specialist will help us advance and amplify our internal and external presentations and visual marketing content. This role will support the Claims marketing communications team as we transform how we deliver marketing and communication storytelling materials to employees, distribution partners, and customers. This role will create engaging, compelling and professional multimedia tools to help transform how we educate our internal sales partners and inform our distribution partners and customers about our market-leading capabilities.

The person in this role will generate creative approaches to developing communications that bring our audiences into the claims experience and demonstrate our expert and empathic claim handling. In addition, this role will maintain a library of marketing materials and internal leadership content, support the creation and distribution of our internal leadership newsletter, recommend and execute on external severe-weather preparedness emails, and help maintain Claims SharePoint sites and calendars. The ideal candidate has an exceptional eye for design, is a strategic thinker, creative marketing storyteller, and a highly organized self-starter curious about how we can use technology to generate efficiencies and improve deliverables. This candidate will excel at creating visual representations of our value prop in slide, infographic and video formats. The role will report the director of Claims Communications.

Responsibilities:

• Working closely with members of the Claims marketing communication team and in partnership with business line marketing teams, support the development of creative, engaging multimedia marketing content and presentation materials. Engage with Creative Services team as needed to review alignment with our brand guidelines/standards.

• Support creation and delivery of leadership communications, including newsletter content development and distribution, slide presentations, org note distribution, calendaring and project management, bringing exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

• Learn about our business lines, strategic goals, and associated Claims value propositions to recommend ways to develop and deliver materials that promote ease of understanding and sharing.

• Assist in creating benefit-focused storyboards, bringing exceptional design and writing to create engaging tools for use and delivery though multiple platforms, including social media. Assist with recording and editing video, building animations, and creating slides.

• Support logistics for internal and external events and meetings as needed and engage in internal communications functions including broad email distribution, metrics analytics, and survey creation and reporting.

• May assist in developing content for internal leadership newsletters and in distribution and analysis of metrics.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Claims marketing communications team as we continue to evolve our approach to developing the most appropriate tools to showcase our claims capabilities/stories. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in a variety of marketing communications and internal communications functions and will report the director of Claims Communications.

Qualifications:

• Exceptional PowerPoint skills required

• Experience in and passion for writing, editing and visual storytelling

• Minimum two years of experience or degree in marketing, communication, graphic design or similar

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

• Able to work both independently and as part of a team

• Willing to take direction from multiple contacts and juggle multiple deadlines and projects

• Ability to build trusted partnerships with contacts across business areas

• Eagerness to grow skills and experience in a marketing communications function

• Expert user of Microsoft Office and Teams. Copilot use a plus.

• Experience with Adobe suite of products. InDesign a plus

• Experience with video recording, voiceovers, and editing

• Insurance industry knowledge a plus

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$78,240 - $117,360
