Join The Hartford's dynamic Treasury organization as a Treasury Consultant, reporting to the AVP & Assistant Treasurer. We're looking for a driven professional who will take charge in liaising with The Hartford's banking partners and internal business teams. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that we have the right banking solutions to meet our company's needs.

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday).

Responsibilities:

Bank Relationship Management

  • Regularly engage with banks to discuss The Hartford's current and potential bank service requirements
  • Actively seek information on new product offerings applicable to insurance companies, and The Hartford in particular
  • Lead bank relationship review meetings
  • Actively seek feedback from business partners regarding service levels provided by various bank operation areas
  • Take the lead in negotiations with banks/service providers, related to banking contracts and banking service fees

Treasury Management

  • Proactively consult with business areas to incorporate sound treasury management practices
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve funds availability and corporate cash flows
  • Actively work to optimize/minimize bank fees and other related administrative expenses associated with supporting receipt and disbursement operations
  • Take charge of bank selection projects
  • Prepare detailed analyses and comparisons of bank services for final recommendations
  • Provide routine support and advice to internal business areas related to ongoing daily use of their bank services
  • Assist and provide direction to operation areas in troubleshooting cash management processing issues
  • Collaborate with the management team regarding the establishment of strategies, policies, and processes related to treasury/cash management

Leadership for Various Treasury Related Projects

  • Serve as Project Manager for projects of varying size
  • Collaborate with project teams to select and implement banking products, services, and systems
  • Implement Corporate Banking/Treasury systems and processes

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent experience, MBA a plus
  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP/CCM) preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of banking, cash management, and insurance products and terminology
  • Knowledge of current and emerging technologies related to cash management and the banking industry
  • 10+ years experience in Treasury and/or Banking relationship management
  • Demonstrates skills, knowledge and understanding of insurance, products, and services
  • Ability to calculate, analyze and/or prepare financial information as it relates to the job

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
