The Hartford's Enterprise Billing and Audit organization seeks a Staff Software Engineer to help transform the Premium Audit landscape. This role involves working in an agile team with architects and business teams to design and develop new capabilities for existing applications. Solutions should adhere to Hartford's architectural standards, business requirements, technology roadmaps, and industry trends. The goal is to enhance customer experience and speed to market while ensuring flexibility and scalability for the Enterprise Billing and Premium Audit Strategic Roadmap. Candidates should have experience delivering stable, performant, and secure technical solutions, along with strong technical acumen, leadership, partnership, and collaboration skills.

This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Requirements:

-7+ years of programming experience in Java and J2EE technologies, including Java Web Services, XML, JSON, JDBC.

-2+ years of experience as a technical lead, demonstrating leadership in software development and architecture design.
-Demonstrated experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for building, deploying, and migrating applications to the cloud.

-AWS certifications preferred

-Proficiency in API development and Web Services (SOAP and REST) using Java Spring Boot.

-Hands on Front-end development skills with Angular or React.

-Knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD toolchains (GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, uDeploy, Rally, Checkmarx).

-Strong scripting and batch processing experience with Unix, shell scripting, pro*C, SQL loader, SQL scripts, Perl script, and Java Spring Boot batches.

-Ability to design scalable and secure software architecture patterns, adhering to industry standards.

-Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for cloud-based application development and deployment.

Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$114,720 - $172,080
