The Hartford's Group Benefits IT Team is seeking a highly motivated, IT professional who will be an integral part of the engineering teams to successfully drive the transformation of our application landscape. This role will be a part of an agile team working in close partnership with business teams to migrate applications into Cloud as well as design and develop new applications.

Seeking candidates who demonstrate a strong drive to learn and expand their technical skills and passion to innovate.

Job Description:

  • Hands on Experience in AWS, building, deploying, and migrating application to Cloud.
  • Hands-on experience with Java and J2EE technologies, such as, Java Web Services, JMS, JSP, XML, JSON, JDBC etc.
  • Experience with Web Services (SOAP and REST) using Java Spring boot or Apache Camel.
  • Experience with writing and using APIs.
  • Experience with Oracle and SQL Server relational database technologies. Knowledge of open-source database technologies is beneficial.
  • Develops applications in Java to support automating manual processes and repeatable decision making.
  • Experience with DevOps methodologies and corresponding tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Rally, SonarQube etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems with software and infrastructure.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally both in speech and in writing.
  • Experience working in an Agile or SAFe development environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Math, or any Engineering.
  • 3+ years Java and Python experience.
  • Great oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to learn new software languages.
  • Infrastructure as Code experience, like CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK, etc.
  • Technical knowledge of AWS relating to application development and Data Integrations.
  • Ability to write code to automate manual processes.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$91,760 - $137,640
