The Property Quality and Improvement Consultant ~ Claims Quality Solutions (CQS) is responsible for auditing damage estimates across the Property Claim line of business, specifically as regards building estimates completed by OCRs, Independent
Adjusters, Preferred Vendors or Inside Claim Handlers. This role reports to the Claims Quality and Improvement Property Manager in the CQS organization.
The Property Re-inspector role is 100% remote and can be located in the Southwest Region, NM, AZ, NV, and UT.
Quality Process & Reporting:
- Add value to the Claim Excellence, Field Operations, and Performance Analytics organizations through accurate and timely audit processes and high quality, impactful, reporting.
- Ensure accuracy of the re-inspection reviews, audit process and reporting.
- Develop and implement audit and reporting improvements where needed and appropriate.
- Effectively partner with RIS Team members to produce a calibrated result which includes a thorough review of all pertinent information including but not limited to, estimates, file notes, photos, reporting conclusions, EQI ratings and dollar variances.

Leadership:
- Effectively consult, influence, and partner with Claim Operations, Claims Supplier Management, Training, and Performance Analytics organizations.
- Stay current on issues potentially impacting the team, including industry and marketplace trends, strategic direction of the organization, leadership, etc.
- Effectively demonstrate these key leadership competencies in the day-to-day execution of CQS objectives; self-development, building partnerships and driving execution.
Productivity:
- Successfully execute the agreed upon RIS operating plan, ad hoc activities, targeted reviews, etc. throughout the year.
- Put forth and demonstrate an "open for business" and "customer service" mindset; promote and manage this expectation within CQS.
- Produce timely production of reports across all estimating sources with the Quality and Improvement Consultants territory.
- Participate in CAT activity or other special projects as an "on-call" resource.
Analysis and Reporting:
- Produce impactful, high-quality reports that articulate audit findings, identify trends, illustrate both strength and opportunity areas, and provide an appropriate level of root cause analysis.
- Clearly present data and the supporting analysis. Integrate data from other sources (i.e., Actuary, other CQS work, etc.) to test and/or validate RIS findings.
- Clearly articulate the DQI (Define, Quantify, Inform) methodology in reinspection reports.
Qualifications:
- 5 + years of Property claim and estimating experience required.
- Large Loss/ Major Case experience a plus.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of Xactimate and other estimation tools utilized by claim handlers, Team Leaders, Managers, and Quality and Improvement Consultants.
- Working knowledge of ECOS, EDM, and associated automation and processes.
- Advanced building estimation technical skills, and industry knowledge relative to building repairs, legal and regulatory environment knowledge.
- Excel and data trending analysis skills.
- Business expertise in Claim Handling Skills/Decision Making Capabilities.
- Superior Internal and External Customer Service Skills.
- Self-motivated, with a strong desire for excellence.
- Drive for results that foster positive teamwork and relationships.
- Effective communication and influencing ability with team and business partners.
- Solid analytical skills, writing skills and presentation skills.
- Overnight Travel required: 30-40%
WHAT ELSE CAN YOU TELL ME? The Property Re-inspector role is 100% remote and can be located in the Southwest Region, NM, AZ, NV, and UT. Company vehicle provided. Overnight travel required 30-40%. Territory will be determined by the resident state of the hire.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$77,200 - $115,800
