The Hartford is seeking a leader with strong Portfolio Level Agile Coaching expertise and experience in a large corporate setting, to enable our teams and leaders through their journey of adopting lean-agile principles and practices. This an excellent opportunity for a dynamic leader who has strong and relevant Agile experience and is passionate about helping teams and leaders deliver better business outcomes. This role be based in Hartford CT or Charlotte NC.

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office location (Add locations) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Agile leadership, coaching and education to leaders, teams, and individuals throughout the enterprise (both business and IT) in the power of adopting Lean-Agile practices, principles, and mindset
  • Leverage Agile practices to model how work flows through the system, help manage enterprise level impediments to enable better flow of value; make these impediments transparent, and facilitate conversations with the right people to remove barriers
  • Coach and partner with Executives, Product Management, Product Owners, IT leads, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Define and measure meaningful Agile metrics to provide insights in these three dimensions (1) Team Health and Maturity, (2) Delivery and Performance, and (3) Business Outcomes
  • Demonstrate thought leadership leading training classes, workshops, learning forums, communities of practice, blogging, and sharing success stories.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years Agile Coaching experience; minimum of two years' continuous experience as an Agile Coach of senior leadership in a large corporate setting; experience with Scaled Agile required
  • A proven track record of portfolio level Agile transformation required - execution experience is critical. Candidates with consulting experience will only be considered if they also have experience working in a corporate setting for at least two years continuously
  • Hands on Rally Agile Tool experience building Kanban boards and dashboards required
  • At least two years foundational experience as an IT Delivery Lead, Release Train Engineer or Agile Product Manager is preferred
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills; experience communicating at all levels of an organization, including effective communication with executive leadership
  • Able to operate independently; manage change and modify approach in an evolving situation
  • Insurance industry experience preferred and/or the ability and desire to learn the industry quickly; intellectually curious about the insurance industry
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Able and willing to travel up to ~25% of the time

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$141,360 - $212,040
