We are looking for Life Care Advocates to join our team supporting our employer, association and group reinsurance customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, compile, and analyzes data to make claim determinations on death claims.
  • Communicate with internal personnel, customers, and client representatives to provide background, status, reasoning, and disposition of cases assigned.
  • Will be responsible for adjudicating Life, Accidental Death, and Dismemberment (and various other benefits) claims for The Hartford, as well as providing superior service.
  • Handle phone calls from our insured's, beneficiaries, Third-Party Administrators, as well as responding to internal inquiries with internal customers (account managers, underwriters, sales, etc.).
  • Work in a fast paced, customer orientated environment such that time management skills and the ability to prioritize are essential.

Qualifications:

  • The position requires sound expertise, familiarity with Claims and Claims terminology, as well as interpreting contract language and determining eligibility requirements.
  • The ideal candidate works with a proactive mindset and possesses the ability to prioritize tasks in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Experience in Life Claims and Disability Premium Waiver Claims preferred.
  • The individual must have excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • The individual must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills and a positive 'can do' attitude.
  • The ideal candidate will excel in desk and time management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate complex information and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as be a team player.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet stringent turnaround times/deadlines.
  • Support and assist in building a high performing team with diverse characteristics, where individual differences are valued.
  • Build appropriate rapport and constructive and effective relationships with people inside and outside the organization. Represent The Hartford as a credible, trustworthy, flexible, and dependable resource. Consistently act with the highest level of integrity and adhere to general principles of business ethics. Demonstrate courtesy, honesty, integrity, respect, and competence when interacting with others.

Additional Details:

This role can be Hybrid or Remote as aligned with the Hartford's Return to Office initiative. If you live near a Hartford office location, you will work in office at least 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). If you are not near an office, this role will be 100% Remote, with the expectation of occasional in-office presence as business needs dictate.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$44,160 - $66,240
