An opportunity awaits to join a motivated and energetic team providing FP&A support to Global Specialty, a $4 billion segment with presence in both US and International markets. This role will not only support consolidated Global Specialty, but will also be a direct Finance partner to various Global Specialty businesses, and be responsible for annual budgeting, periodic forecasts, various analyses as well as engaging in ad-hoc requests and special projects across various specialty businesses.

Our ideal Consultant Financial Analyst would be a highly collaborative teammate, driven to learn, and passionate about process improvement through emerging technologies. The position requires strong partnership with both Finance and Business peers to provide financial support, strategic analysis, and business insight.
This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office (Hartford, CT) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Primary responsibilities include the following:
- Partner with business partners to develop 3-year forecasts for gross premiums, ceded premiums, commissions, taxes, and expense through effective partnerships with business leaders and other support departments (Expense, Actuarial, Reinsurance, Data Science)
- Provide analytical support and financial guidance to business partners to improve and influence the decision-making process and to achieve operating plans/targets (Revenue growth, Earnings, ROE and other key metrics)
- Analyze monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date financial results, providing variance analysis vs. Budget and Prior Year, monitoring business trends and highlighting any risks/opportunities
- Provide leadership, guidance, and day-to-day support to senior analysts, fostering development and promoting a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
- Support production and review of Consolidated reporting packages and exhibits for Global Specialty Segment (Actuals and Forecast)
- Drive continuous improvement in management reporting, metrics and forecasting, with a mindset for developing more predictive and prescriptive analytics while automating or eliminating low value activities.
- Develop strong working relationships throughout the Global Specialty and Finance organizations; recommend solutions and help guide development and execution of the Global Specialty strategy.
- Engage in ad-hoc analysis and special projects as directed by CFO, the business and other management
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred. CPA or MBA a plus
- 5+ years of financial or accounting experience
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with business partners, and other finance peers
- Proven track record of improving processes via a continuous improvement mindset
- Intermediate Excel, PowerPoint and TM1 (or other enterprise reporting software) skills
- Self-motivated, performance driven, and detail oriented; ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven and multi-tasking environment; ability to lead through influencing.
- Experience and/or desire to learn about use of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies a plus.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$100,800 - $151,200
