The Hartford is seeking a high-performing Director of Agile Product Management - Data and Analytics (APM) to set the strategic vision for products within a single Agile Release Train (ART). This role is pivotal in linking program execution to business vision and representing the voice of the customer. The ideal candidate will drive the development and implementation of data-driven products and solutions to enhance business intelligence and analytics capabilities.

HYBRID

Responsibilities:

  • Lead product execution for the Data and Analytics ART.
  • Manage a team of 3 Agile Product Owners (APOs) and a business data steward.
  • Ensure data solutions align with and deliver the business vision.
  • Engage with stakeholders to identify product opportunities and implications.
  • Stay current on technology trends to be a subject matter expert.
  • Set and articulate product strategy and vision to key stakeholders.
  • Guide ARTs in determining PI objectives and linking execution to business intent.
  • Manage the program backlog, breaking down epics into features and prioritizing for maximum business value.
  • Make independent decisions on prioritization, pivoting, and persevering.
  • Ensure the health and readiness of the program backlog.
  • Write epics and features, define acceptance criteria, and validate completed features.
  • Partner with RTE, Architects, APOs, and IT/business leads to ensure solutions meet the business vision.
  • Maintain change management plans for stakeholders and users.
  • Monitor and share execution progress, benefit realization, and post-release optimization.
  • Analyze program-level metrics and business-level OKR/KPI impact for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • 5 plus years of experience in product ownership, digital, technology, or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree required; experience in the insurance industry preferred.
  • Proficiency in agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, XP) and agile lifecycle management tools (e.g., Rally, JIRA).
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, SQL server, Snowflake, or similar technologies.
  • Strong collaboration and influence skills, effective in a matrix environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience analyzing data to identify insights and drive customer experiences.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring APOs and contributing to an Agile product management community of practice.
  • Self-motivated with experience handling multiple high-priority demands.
  • Effective decision-maker with experience in ADKAR or other change management frameworks.

Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$136,800 - $205,200
