As a Data Analyst on the Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) team, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our document automation capabilities. You'll collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to ensure data accuracy, generate insights, and support strategic decision-making across IDP initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze structured and unstructured data from IDP workflows to uncover trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization.
- Partner with business SMEs and Data Science/BI teams to define and refine data requirements, default rules, and tiering logic.
- Translate business needs into formalized data logic and transformation documentation.
- Develop and validate business reporting dashboards and KPIs (e.g., extraction counts, quote rates, time-to-first-action).
- Participate in end-to-end testing and validation of IDP integrations across enterprise systems.
- Aggregate and interpret weekly test results and stakeholder feedback during release cycles.
- Collaborate with IT, architecture, and operations teams to ensure seamless data ingestion and reporting alignment.

Additional Expectations:
Given the agile nature of the IDP team, this role may extend beyond traditional data analyst responsibilities. Flexibility, initiative, and a collaborative mindset are essential, as you may be asked to support adjacent functions or broader team goals as priorities evolve.
This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience in data validation and reporting, with proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) platforms, document extraction workflows, and insurance data structures is a plus.
- Proficiency in tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics/reporting platforms.
- Experience with AI technologies like Optical Character Recognition (OCR) or Natural Language Processing (NLP), and machine learning automation is nice to have.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred
Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$100,000 - $150,000
