Job Description
The Clerical Assistant will be primarily responsible for handling and processing a high volume of incoming mail, which includes scanning, case matching, photocopying, filing, CD duplication, PDF compilation and file conversion.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-volume environment that is both dynamic and rewarding while working in a collegial and friendly atmosphere. The position is fully in-office at Penn Plaza NY.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Attorneys and Legal Assistants in various clerical and administrative tasks.
- Processing closed files electronically, as well as shipping physical files to our storage facility.
- Maintaining all physical files, media and materials generated throughout the litigation process.
- Ordering and maintaining supplies for the office, as well as shipping supplies as needed.
- Troubleshooting equipment as needed and contacting help desk when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects and use time management skills in a high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills focusing on attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, attorneys and Legal Assistants.
- Ability to work on strict and short deadlines, set priorities and deal effectively with shifting priorities.
- Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information.
- Basic knowledge of legal terminology is a plus.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$42,560 - $63,840
