Reporting to the Vice President Claim Solutions who has oversight of The Hartford's SIU Anti-Fraud Programs, the AVP SIU Anti-Fraud Programs is responsible for specialized SIU programs and operational management. The AVP works in conjunction with all SIU operational areas, as well as business partners including Finance, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Legal and other business groups, in support of the business disciplines requiring anti-fraud detection, deterrence and investigative approaches. He/she is responsible for driving SIU's mission and vision in support of SIU service value across SIU's business partnerships at the enterprise level.

The AVP will manage 4-5 direct reports and a staff of 75.

Key areas of responsibility will include:
• Overseeing Medical Fraud Major Case, Forensic Data Analytics, Fire Investigations, and Criminal Restitution and Recovery programs.
• Fostering SIU engagement with internal Data Science partners in the development of proactive fraud identification models, along with model performance monitoring and enhancement recommendations.
• Continued development of internal and external fraud detection data strategies and programs.
• Assist in partnership with Enterprise Risk, Internal Audit and Product Lines for fraud loss exposure identification in support of control measures.
• Leading SIU strategies to identify, develop and implement vendor data applications between internal and external applications.
• Engaging at industry level in fraud focused industry associations and law enforcement agencies engaged in insurance fraud detection, deterrence and mitigation strategies.
• Being highly knowledgeable in areas of appropriate investigative techniques and strategies pertaining to organized fraud schemes, laws pertaining to insurance claims, mandated reporting, good-faith investigative techniques and understanding of emerging issues impacting Property & Casualty and Employee Benefits claims.

The responsibilities of this position may expand over time based on growth of The Hartford's Anti-Fraud programs.

Qualifications:

The AVP SIU Anti-Fraud Programs must exhibit an elevated level of knowledge of anti-fraud detection methodologies, forensic data applications and SIU operations. In addition, this role requires the ability to be highly flexible, committed and engaged while having exceptional communication, time management and project management skills along with proactive execution abilities. Specific qualifications include:
• 8+ years SIU / insurance fraud leadership experience at a national level
• 3+ years of experience leading leaders across multiple disciplines.
• Experience leading and managing all levels of staff relative to experience, tenure, and professional development. Ability to teach, guide, coach and develop staff.
• Strong strategic thinking, planning and execution abilities.
• Ability to create and foster teamwork and relationship building.
• Strong financial acumen. Strong analytical skills in terms of functional, technical, and financial information.
• Highly effective communication skills, both verbal and written regardless of audience demographic and size.
• Experience with employee policies, procedures, and administration.
• Ability to travel to business and customer locations on a national or international level as needed.

Location:

This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations, will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$174,400 - $261,600
