The successful PMC Flex/Triage Associate General Adjuster (AGA) candidate will plan, recommend, reserve and execute the investigation, valuation, disposition and settlement of commercial/business lines property claims in a manner consistent with corporate claim settlement policies and procedures and statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements throughout the United States as appropriate.
The AGA will work to achieve fair, equitable and timely claim dispositions and properly assess the indemnity and expense exposure of assigned claims. They will report to a Property Major Case Manager and operate in a team environment that will develop and share business knowledge and claim handling expertise with team members and business partners. While this role will an inside desk role, candidates must have a desire to develop into a field AGA or General Adjuster. The individual in this inside position will be expected to allocate their time in claim handling and in triage related duties.

Work Arrangements:
This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Hartford, CT, San Antonio, TX, Lake Mary, FL, Phoenix, AZ, Naperville, IL) will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.
Responsibilities:
• Manage large claims from the desk utilizing cutting-edge tools, technology, and vendors to efficiently handle claims.
• Utilize organizational metrics, like key performance indicators (KPIs) and other relevant data, to identify trends, measure efficiency, and determine areas for improvement.
• Utilize financial reporting tools to monitor and address reserve accuracy.
• Stay updated on issues affecting commercial lines business, including industry and marketplace trends, strategic direction of the organization, organizational structure and leadership, team goals, and internal initiatives.
• Apply critical thinking skills to gather information, apply reasoning, draw conclusions, and make decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgment.
• Accurately assess the indemnity and expense exposure of assigned claims and manage the accurate setting of reserves.
• Use organizational and communication skills to effectively manage the resolution of assigned claims, meet claim deadlines, and utilize resources appropriately.
• Apply claims functional knowledge to interpret and apply insurance coverage correctly.
• Meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
• Support a team environment that champions Claims' Culture initiatives, valuing individual differences.

Qualifications:
- Must have 3+ years of Property claims handling experience with a full file claim adjustment acumen of moderate to severe property losses.
- Desire to develop into an outside field General Adjuster is a must.
- Strong functional knowledge of commercial/business claims and be able to appropriately interpret and apply insurance coverage.
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- Consistent high level of performance and achievement over career span.
- Cost estimation experience preferably using Xactimate and computer competencies required.
- Experience in handling business income losses is preferred.
- Good working knowledge of regional jurisdictional issues.
- Disciplined time management and organizational skills and ability to function in a self-reliant manner.
- Availability for nationwide catastrophe operations as necessary.
- Must have MS Office proficiency (i.e. Excel) and Share Point knowledge.
- Ability to travel within their local geographic area to perform physical field inspections if warranted.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$84,400 - $126,600
