About the Role

The Director of Talent Acquisition is a dynamic leadership role that requires passion and expertise in attracting, developing, and retaining excellent people to serve our students and families. This individual oversees the development and execution of both long-range plan and short-term strategies to recruit and hire TEP teachers, social workers, leadership, and all non-instructional positions. The Director of Talent Acquisition role is for an equity-driven individual who strongly believes in TEP’s revolutionary approach to attracting educational talent to underserved communities.

Responsibilities

Talent Marketing, Recruitment, and Sourcing:

  • Optimizing Talent Acquisition: Lead TEP’s Talent Acquisition recruitment process by enhancing the candidate experience across all positions and hiring stages. Spearhead targeted recruitment for teachers and non-instructional staff through participation in recruiting events, job fairs, networking, external partnerships, and leveraging TEP's talent network.
  • Talent Pipeline Development: Maintain and expand TEP’s robust pipeline of referrals from existing teachers and staff, leveraging referrals as a primary and successful mechanism for attracting strong-fit, qualified candidates to TEP.
  • Job Descriptions:  Develop high-quality job descriptions and job posts that resonate with TEP's organizational vision, ensuring alignment with the school's commitment to excellence and equity.  
  • Social Media Optimization:  Maximize TEP’s social media presence and employer brand across various platforms, overseeing the development and management of all marketing efforts aimed at staff recruitment to provide a dynamic and informative space for potential candidates.
  • Collaboration with School Leaders:  Work with school leaders to innovate and implement new Talent Acquisition strategies and initiatives, maximizing staff retention, and fostering effective and equitable talent acquisition and candidate assessment strategies.
  • Online Recruitment Platform Management:  Manage all online recruitment platforms, including Greenhouse (TEP's applicant tracking system) and external Job Boards, coordinating every aspect of the hiring process.

Hiring Process Management:

  • End-to-End Hiring Oversight:  Manage all stages of the hiring process for instructional and non-instructional positions within the TEP community, ensuring a seamless and efficient talent acquisition experience.
  • Candidate Experience Management:  Ensure a high-quality candidate experience marked by transparency, prompt follow-up, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the recruitment process.
  • Data-driven Talent Acquisition:  Manage all data sets related to Talent Acquisition processes, including the tracking of spending, and hiring and retention metrics to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Team Management:  Supervise and collaborate with the one (1) other member of TEP’s Talent Acquisition team, who supports with all the responsibilities of this position.

About You (Qualifications)

  • Leadership Experience in Talent Acquisition: Bring a minimum of 5+ years of impactful leadership experience in the talent acquisition field, demonstrating a track record of successfully attracting, developing, and retaining top-tier talent.
  • Expertise in Screening and Interviewing: Showcase significant expertise in screening and interviewing job candidates, utilizing comprehensive Talent Acquisition strategies to identify and select the best-fit candidates for instructional and non-instructional roles.
  • Passion for Equity and Inclusion: Exhibit a genuine passion for building diverse, equitable, and inclusive teams, aligning with TEP's commitment to fostering educational equity in every aspect of the hiring process.
  • Strategic Vision and Operational Agility: Showcase enthusiasm for big-picture talent strategy and innovation while demonstrating the ability to adeptly navigate day-to-day operational needs within talent operations.
  • Relationship Building: Demonstrate an ability to build rapport quickly, establishing and maintaining productive and trust-based relationships with a variety of individuals across diverse groups within the organization.
  • Commitment to TEP's Vision: Display deep commitment to TEP's organizational vision and revolutionary approach to attracting educational talent to underserved communities, aligning personal values with TEP's mission.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Exhibit exceptional writing ability and oral communication skills, essential for crafting compelling job descriptions, conducting interviews, and ensuring transparent and effective communication with candidates.
