Job Description

Overview:

Resident directors oversee the management of the residence halls and the development of programs, activities, and policies to improve the overall community within their area. They will supervise, train, develop, and evaluate graduate assistants, resident assistants, and other student staff. Serve as a conduct hearing officer in adjudicating policy violations. The primary goal of this position is to establish a residential community that is conducive to the academic and personal development of students. This is a 12-month, live-in position with on-duty responsibilities in addition to weeknight and weekend commitments on a regular basis.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Relevant student housing/residence life experience with one or more years of live-in experience as a professional staff member (Graduate experience may count.)
  • Experience with and ability to work independently, as well as on a team
  • Experience with creating inclusive communities for students from a variety of backgrounds and experiences
  • Previous supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs or related field
  • Experience in Residence Hall supervision strongly preferred

Working Location

This is an on-site, in-person position in Salem, MA with on-campus, in-person responsibilities.
