Interns at the Office of Economic Empowerment are tasked with supporting the OEE staff with the department's overall mission, communications, and administrative needs.
The Office of Economic Empowerment (OEE) is a department within the Office of the Treasurer and Receiver General of Massachusetts tasked with supporting, advocating, and facilitating policies that empower all Massachusetts residents. Its priorities include closing the wage gap, increasing access to financial education, improving college affordability, and investing in STEM careers and education. Program Description
The Office of Economic Empowerment's interns are tasked with supporting OEE staff with the department's overall mission, communications, and administrative needs. Applicants should be detail-oriented, have strong writing skills, and be familiar with OEE's initiatives.
This internship will assist OEE's Outreach Manager with the launch of the second round of the Community Ambassadors program as well as additional projects related to community outreach and partnerships.
OEE's internship program requires interns to commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week for 10 weeks. OEE provides a learning experience for interns and invites them to observe meetings with partners, participate in conference calls and attend relevant conferences. Interns are assigned one to two long-term substantive projects.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting the Outreach Manager in preparing to round two of the Community Ambassadors programs, including:
- The design an onboarding program and onboarding guide for new Ambassadors that includes orientation, training, and resource access.
- The creation of a system for ongoing evaluation and adaptation of the Community Ambassadors onboarding strategy.
- Researching and compiling resources related to financial education and empowerment to support Ambassadors in their outreach efforts.
- Assist in creating educational materials, presentations, and toolkits for Ambassadors to use during workshops and community events.
- Assisting with the preparation and distribution of updated program communications, scripts, and updates to Ambassadors and partners.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Candidates should be/have:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in political science, public affairs, social work, public policy, or a related field
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to multi-task, and manage multiple responsibilities
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 10lbs
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
