THIS IS A CONTRACTED, NON-BENEFIT POSITION

The Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) provides services that break down barriers and empower people with disabilities to live life on their own terms. This includes the Community Living Division, which supports individuals with brain injuries and other significant disabilities living in the community. We're searching for a Neuropsychologist who will bring compassion, commitment, and collaboration to the role. Working with designated Community Living programs, including the Statewide Head Injury Program (SHIP) and the ABI/MFP Waiver Program, the Neuropsychologist will support program staff in their work with participants. Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Neuropsychologist will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of clinicians, including nurses, neuropsychologists, and behavioral health clinicians, to provide multi-faceted support as needed.

To be considered for this position, applicants must be a licensed Massachusetts psychologist, specializing in clinical neuropsychology, who meets established professional training guidelines to practice as a neuropsychologist.

Responsibilities (this is a general summary and not all-inclusive):

  • Provide clinical case consultation to Community Living (CL) programs and staff.
  • Participate in team clinical meetings, records review, visits in the community, and discussions with providers.
  • Assist with determining clinical appropriateness for programs, provide recommendations regarding service provision and assistance with developing resources.
  • Support training for MRC staff, service providers, or other state agencies.
  • Consult with other MRC programs regarding complex cases.
  • Clinical support and training related to program grants as requested.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of professional experience in the field.
  • Demonstrated experience with best practices in clinical consultation to support staff working with complex populations.
  • Experienced working with behavioral health and brain injury populations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook, as well as technologies supporting a remote workplace (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and proficiency in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with various diverse consumers, families, staff, and organizations.

Required Qualifications:

Qualified applicants must be licensed psychologists, specializing in clinical neuropsychology, who meet professional training guidelines established by the American Psychological Association (Division 40) and the International Neuropsychological Society.

Additional Information:

  • This is a contract position working up to 28 hours per week.
  • Benefits are unavailable except for sick leave accruals.
  • Contracts are renewable, subject to the Department's approval, performance, and allocation of funds.
  • All employees will be paid on a bi-weekly basis and must have direct deposit.
  • State and federal taxes will be withheld. In addition, the contractor must participate in the Alternative Retirement Program mandated by federal law.

Contract Period of Service: start date TBD - 6/30/2024 (Renewable subject to available funding)
