Intro:Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is looking for a highly motivated individual to serve as the Managing Attorney of the Medicaid Fraud Division (MFD), part of the Office of the Attorney General's Health Care & Fair Competition Bureau. MFD is committed to identifying and prosecuting fraud against the state's $20 billion Medicaid program and investigating allegations of fraud against the state Medicaid program and allegations of abuse, neglect, and misappropriation of funds occurring in long-term care facilities and from Medicaid members in health care settings. MFD has both criminal and civil enforcement authority and works in partnership with both federal and state law enforcement agencies.

Primary Duties: The Managing Attorney will work with the Division Chief and MFD management team to oversee the investigation and litigation of cases in MFD. The Managing Attorney will be responsible for assisting with supervision and directing activities of a division that includes approximately 20 Assistant Attorneys General. Primary responsibilities of the Managing Attorney include: the day-to-day supervision of Division cases in state and federal courts, including qui tam litigation and work product; review and approval of the use and issuance of all criminal and civil investigative process, including grand jury subpoenas, search warrants, administrative demands, and civil investigative demands; oversight of the development of investigative strategy and procedure; participation in the negotiation of civil settlements and criminal dispositions; drafting and oversight of dispositive and discovery motions; and trial preparation and practice.
Position Type: Full-Time/Exempt.
Our current hybrid model includes some remote workdays for most positions. On in-office days, employees are required to report to one of our designated office locations, either in Boston or at a regional office.
Salary: $124,068

Qualifications
Position Requirements :
• Minimum of eight years criminal and/or civil litigation experience.
• Experience with the federal and/or Massachusetts False Claims Act.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Prior managerial experience and a demonstrated ability to oversee multiple matters simultaneously is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with various constituencies including external state and federal agencies, attorneys, paralegals, and other staff with varying levels of experience.
• Familiarity with public health systems, specifically the state Medicaid program, is desired.
