Job Description

Position Summary:

The Barnstable County Sheriff's Office is seeking a compassionate, organized, and community-focused Coordinator to lead operations at The Bridge Center, a newly launched reentry and family support hub located at 3195 Main Street in Barnstable Village.

The ideal candidate would bring a mix of operational and clinical experience to our Bridge Center which serves at-risk, and justice-involved individuals and their families as they transition back into the community following incarceration. The coordinator will oversee daily operations, manage partnerships with community providers, supervise staff, volunteers, and peer mentors, and ensure that all participants are connected to the services they need for long-term success.

This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of reentry services in Barnstable County and promote public safety through proactive support, dignity, and hope.

Key Responsibilities:

Program & Operations Management

• Manage daily operations of The Bridge Center, ensuring an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment for individuals and families.

• Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and delivery of on-site services, workshops, and community events.

• Foster a trauma-informed, culturally responsive space aligned with the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office values.

Respond promptly to any acute needs of clients arriving at The Bridge Center, including crisis intervention, emergency resource navigation, or coordination with external support services as necessary.

Client Services & Case Support

• Conduct outreach, intake, and assessment with justice-involved individuals and their families.

• Develop individualized service plans and connect participants to resources, including:

o Housing and transitional living

o Employment and workforce development

o Behavioral health and substance use treatment

o Family reunification and parenting support

o Transportation, legal assistance, and education

• Provide direct support and advocacy while helping clients navigate complex service systems.

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise, mentor, and support assigned Bridge Center staff, volunteers, and peer mentors.
  • Coordinate team workflows and maintain effective coverage of Center operations.
  • Promote a collaborative, client-centered team culture.

Community & Partner Engagement

• Develop and maintain partnerships with local nonprofits, service providers, employers, healthcare agencies, and educational institutions.

  • Convene service providers and facilitate on-site programming and resource fairs.
  • Represent The Bridge Center and Barnstable County Sheriff's Office in community coalitions, task forces, and public events.

Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with Sheriff's Office policy.
  • Track program metrics and contribute to grant reporting and compliance.
  • Solicit client and partner feedback and identify opportunities for continuous program improvement.
  • Participate in strategic planning and development of The Bridge Center's future programming and impact.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, criminal justice, or a related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in reentry services, case management, or human services with justice-involved individuals.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of reentry challenges and available community resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and engage effectively with diverse populations, including families impacted by incarceration.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, data entry, case management systems).

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field and current licensure as a LMHC, LICSW, LCSW, LSW, LADAC, CADAC
  • Experience supervising staff, volunteers, or peer mentors.
  • Lived experience with the justice system and/or peer recovery certification.
  • Bilingual or multilingual ability.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and restorative practices.

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily conducted on-site at The Bridge Center (3195 Main Street, Barnstable Village).
  • Occasional off-site community meetings, outreach, or events required.
  • Schedule is a mix of daytime, evening and weekend hours as may be needed to meet client or program needs.
  • Ability to manage sensitive or challenging situations with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
