(Boston Office)
The Attorney General is looking for a highly motivated individual to serve as a Community Engagement Coordinator in the Community Engagement Division (CED) of the Executive Bureau.
The Attorney General's Community Engagement Division (CED) aims to fulfill the Office's mission to serve all people in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in every one of its diverse communities. CED assists in expanding the reach of the office and supporting efforts to ensure legal and advocacy work is informed by and reflects the needs of the communities and residents of Northeastern Massachusetts.
The Division works to establish a bridge between the Attorney General's Office (AGO), community members, and organizations across Massachusetts so that every resident has access to the Office's services. To this end, the Division works with all bureaus in the Office to develop engagement strategies, trainings, information sessions, clinics, and public presentations on a wide variety of topics.
Primary Duties:
• Manage and cultivate partnerships with community groups, organizations, and other stakeholders, particularly those working with people disabilities, environmental justice communities, immigrant and migrant populations, elders, youth, and low-income residents.
• Maintain a visible presence in Northeastern MA including Essex County and parts of Middlesex County (such as Lowell and surrounding areas) by representing the Office and Division at public events, community meetings, and stakeholder gatherings to share the AGO goals.
• Identify new opportunities to collaborate with community leaders and advocacy organizations throughout the region to advance the AGO mission and strategic priorities.
• Educate the public on the AGO's services and deliver trainings on topics such as consumer protection, scam prevention, worker's rights, landlord and tenant rights.
• Plan, organize and participate in internal and external events supporting cross bureau leadership and staff including our Wage Theft Clinics, regional summits, advisory council meetings, and topical webinars.
• Provide general administrative and office support to the Boston Regional Office, as needed.
Position Type: Full-Time/Non-Exempt.
Our current hybrid model includes some remote workdays for most positions. On in-office days, employees are required to report to one of our designated office locations, either in Boston or at a regional office.
Salary: $58,657-$62,402
