Job Description
The Department of Mental Health (DMH) Tewksbury Hospital Hathorne Units is seeking two experienced, dynamic, and compassionate candidates to serve as a Clinical Social Worker (D). The position of CSW D supervises all aspects of clinical and administrative work of assigned Clinical Social Workers and students. The selected candidates will enhance the level of service provided to clients within an inpatient hospital setting while supporting the DMH initiative for recovery-based practices and Person-Centered Planning
Please Note: This position is full-time, 40 hours per week. The selected candidate will work from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Days off are Saturday and Sunday.

Duties and Responsibilities (these are a general summary and not all inclusive):
- Provides direct, highly skilled individual, group and family therapy utilizing appropriate treatment modalities.
- Formulates independent psychosocial assessments, gathering information from the patient, family and significant others, current and past records, and community providers as applicable.
- Provides skilled clinical and administrative supervision to Clinical Social Workers, monitoring all assigned cases, promoting quality treatment standards, timely discharges, and adherence to all policies, procedures, and standards of DMH: Tewksbury Hospital; Hathorne mental Health Units; Department of Clinical Social Work and National Association of Social Workers.
- Represents the Department of Clinical Social Work on assigned Unit, on the UAT as scheduled, and on other committees and Performance Improvement Teams as assigned by the Director of Clinical Social Work.
- Required to produce reports and statistics at the request of the Director of Clinical Social Work.
- As Team Manager, responsible for formulating team agenda and conducting team meetings and Periodic Reviews, completing all tasks and documentation within required timelines; monitors completion of documentation by all disciplines, exercising authority to ensure that work is completed.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of the laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines which govern hospital administration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record system/Meditech.

Qualifications

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: At least three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience as a clinical social worker after earning a Master's degree in social work. Based on assignment to second-level supervisory positions, at least one year of experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
- A Doctorate in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, counseling education, or human services may be substituted for the required nonsupervisory experience on the basis of two years of education for one year of experience.
- No substitution will be permitted for the required supervisory experience. One year of education equals 30 semester hours. Education toward a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
A Master's or higher degree in social work is required.
LICENSES:
- Licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Social Work is required.
- Based on assignment, travel may be required. Those employees who elect to use a motor vehicle for travel must have a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's license or the equivalent from another state.
Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
