Job Description

The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is searching for an enthusiastic, compassionate, reliable individual with a strong work ethic to fill a Clinical Social Worker C (CSW-C) position at the Wrentham Developmental Center (WDC). The CSW-C will provide clinical services to individuals to facilitate growth and enrichment of interpersonal skills and to maximize independence.

Job Responsibilities: (The duties and responsibilities stated are general summary and not all inclusive.)

Provide highly skilled clinical services to individuals and their families, including in the Emergency Stabilization Program (ESP).
Formulate social service assessments and contribute to the development of the individual's ISP.

Advocate for and ensure the individual's right to self-determination, civil & legal rights, and entitlements.
Participate in clinical team monitoring of appropriateness of residential settings and facilitates planning, transition, and discharge, as appropriate including in the ESP.
Assist as needed in resident pre-admission planning and admission transitions, including in the ESP.
Monitor individuals to ensure they are residing in a residence that is meeting personal, programmatic, and medical needs.
Furnish competency evaluations as required by probate court to assist the court in determining individual's competency.

Required Qualifications:

  • This position must meet all the minimum Federal requirements of Title XIX for Qualified Intellectual Disability Professionals (Q.I.D.P) formerly (Q.M.R.P) this includes a minimum of a MASTER's Degree or higher in Social Worker is required.
  • Possess a current and valid licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker by the Massachusetts Board of Social Work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Meditech medical documentation program.
  • Understanding of principles of human development, human behavior, and social systems.
  • Work effectively as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Capable of exercising sound judgement as well as discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Ability to interact with people who are under physical and/or emotional stress.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an aptitude for interacting effectively with a variety of individuals.
  • Proficient use of data management software and Microsoft applications such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Agency Requirements:

Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Must possess a current and valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's license or equivalent license from the state in which you reside.
Please note:

The work location is in the Wrentham Developmental Center, in Wrentham, MA.

Schedule Information:

Full-time - 40 hour weekly position on 1st Shift (day)

Schedule - Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Days off - Sunday and Saturday

Qualifications

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:

At least two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience as a clinical social worker after earning a Master's degree in social work.

SUBSTITUTIONS :

- A Doctorate in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, counseling education, or human services may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of two years of education for one year of experience.

- One year of education equals 30 semester hours. Education toward a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION :

A Master's or higher degree in social work is required.

LICENSES :

- Licensure as a Licensed Certified Social Worker or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Social Work is required.

- Based on assignment, travel may be required. Those employees who elect to use a motor vehicle for travel must have a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's license or the equivalent from another state.
