Description:
Climate Mitigation Trust Research Project - Intern
The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Management oversees the Climate Protection and Mitigation Expendable Trust (CMT). The CMT invests in programs and projects across the Commonwealth that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
This research project will result in a comprehensive narrative report of all previous CMT investments, including status updates and project highlights. It should be presented in a format that can also be largely replicated as an ongoing annual report on CMT expenditures and impact.
Specific duties and responsibilities:
- Work internally with the Director of Climate Strategy, CFO and Bureaus to gather and organize documentation relating to previous Climate Mitigation Trust Investments.
- Identify and work with Director of Climate strategy to resolve any gaps in data related to a given expenditure.
- Identify key project successes to highlight
- Work with Director of Climate Strategy, Bureaus, and Communications Department to gather photos, quotes, etc. from project host/beneficiaries.
- Work w/ Director of Climate Strategy, Communications Department to design and publish the report.
- Work with the Commissioner's Office to organize an event highlighting the impact of the CMT.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Strong research and writing skills.
- A general knowledge and interest in climate resiliency and mitigation strategies, especially clean energy investments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software
- Ability to work independently, and in an organized manner with strong attention to detail
