Job Description

Overview:

The Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer will serve as the head sports medicine professional and is responsible for directing and coordinating all of the activities and personnel of the athletic training room. This assistant director will oversee and assist in providing medical services to the athletic programs and the students of Salem State University, and develop and oversee a comprehensive student-athlete wellness support program.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in athletic training
  • Five years previous experience in a college or comparable co-educational setting
  • NATA certified
  • Possession of or ability to obtain Massachusetts licensure
  • First Aid & CPR certified

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physical Therapy, Public Health, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • Three years experience in supervision of athletic training staff
  • CPR instructor certification

Working Location

This is an on-site, in-person position in Salem, MA with on-campus, in-person responsibilities.
