Job Description

Overview:

Academic Advising provides the foundation upon which a student develops his or her academic program. The academic advisor will assist the director of academic advising in all aspects of advising such as, retaining students, clarifying educational goals, planning academic coursework, provide additional campus resources and understanding university policies. Collaborates with other administrators, faculty chairs, and faculty advisors in support of student success. This position provides academic, financial aid, and career counseling to students, guiding them in the development of their academic, career and life goals.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Minimum two years of advising experience in a higher education setting
  • Knowledge of contemporary sociological, psychological and academic problems faced by students
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite, Peoplesoft, and OnBase

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle competing priorities

Working Location

This is an on-site, in-person position in Salem, MA with on-campus, in-person responsibilities.
