Flavor Manufacturing Supply Planning Director is responsible for overseeing the integration and optimization of short and long-term demand planning, inventory management, and capacity planning across Flavor Manufacturing facilities. This role will lead strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing capacity utilization, maintaining supply continuity, and enhancing overall operational efficiency, while also supporting key business objectives related to new product development

What You'll Do for Us:

Integrated Sales & Operations Planning:

  • Lead the integration and execution of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process across all FM facilities, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and efficient management of demand, inventory, and capacity.
  • Develop long-term supply plan aligning with the company's growth and innovation agenda, adapting to market changes, customer demands, and evolving operational requirements
  • Lead regular cross-functional pre-S&OP management routines to align on key business objectives, ensuring that all departments are working towards common goals and that any potential conflicts are resolved proactively.
  • Ensure long and short-term manufacturing plan is in line with finished product sales updated forecasts.

Demand Planning

  • Oversee the development and refinement of demand forecasts, leveraging historical data, market trends, and cross-functional insights to ensure accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Collect and validate customers' long term volume forecasts (CPS, NAOU).
  • Continuously monitor customer forecasts to business plan to assess forecast accuracy and volume changes throughout the year.
  • Drive continuous improvement in demand planning processes, incorporating advanced analytics and predictive modelling to enhance forecast accuracy and inventory optimization.

Inventory Management

  • Ensure inventory management policies are in place to balance product availability with cost efficiency, minimizing excess stocks while preventing shortages that could disrupt production.
  • Coordinate and discuss Flavor Manufacturing's raw material allocation decisions between manufacturing plants.
  • Validate raw material forecasts and requirements for upcoming year contract negotiations provided by FM plants to Strategic Ingredients Supply (SIS).
  • Complete an annual Supplier Risk Assessment, including development of mitigation plans to reduce top risks.
  • Connect with CPS and NAOU in Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment reviews.

Capacity Planning

  • Ensure consistency and a standard approach regarding capacity calculation across FM facilities (including: available capacity for the different manufacturing centers, key equipment, warehouse and storage tanks).
  • Optimize capacity planning across all FM facilities, ensuring that resources are effectively utilized to meet both current and future production needs.
  • Develop and implement capacity models that account for fluctuations in demand, production constraints, and resource availability, enabling proactive adjustments to production plans.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement teams to ensure that capacity planning aligns with equipment capabilities, labor resources, and materials supply.

SCE Capability Building

  • Develop a comprehensive Supply Chain Excellence capabilities program to regularly upskill key functions.
  • Facilitate in-depth Supply Chain training for key functions within FM.
  • Proactively benchmark externally to explore and adopt best in class supply chain practices.

Co-product sales supervision

  • Supervise or coordinate co-product sales forecasts with Strategic Ingredients Supply (SIS) or FM's Co-products representative.
  • Track CIP (co-product) material usage and ensure spent material adequate outlet planning.
  • Establish and/or enforce Flavor Manufacturing co-products inventory policies while completing specific actions to adjust or bring inventories to optimal levels when necessary.

Other Support

  • Assist Finance with anticipated product requirements and provide input for the creation of the annual business plan.
  • Support FM's commercialization team on new product launches, ensuring that all aspects of production planning, inventory management, and capacity utilization are aligned with commercial objectives and timely market entry.
  • Integrate commercialization requirements into the Integrated S&OP process, ensuring actual and future capacity planning is aligned with demand forecasts.
  • Support IQD and FM-Technical on new products specifications requirement to ensure optimization of inventories.
  • Ensure all processes under this role's responsibilities are properly documented to ensure a standard approach that could be improved with time.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • University degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration or any technical related field.
  • A Master's degree in Business Administration is considered a plus.
  • American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification is considered a plus.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in manufacturing facility in a similar supply chain role.
  • Knowledge of supplier fulfilment capabilities to meet customer and internal requirements. Ability to build system capability and capacity to ensure service is provided effectively, timely and efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale SAP projects and align SAP functionalities with business strategy.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision making and strategic thinking skills, with ability to navigate and prioritize multiple conflicting demands.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including influencing, listening, teamwork and building value-based relationships.
  • Ability to make decisions based on analytical results.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated interaction with senior managers (Finance, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Legal, etc.).
  • Key skills include long and short-term planning. Organizing, leading change, influencing and communicating widely.
  • Food processing or pharmaceutical planning experience.
  • Considered a plus: Quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001) experience and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Working knowledge of the principles of manufacturing management.
  • Working knowledge of specific supply chain capabilities, strategies, and interdependencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate efforts around process improvement.
  • Working knowledge of basic elements of Good Manufacturing Practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong relationship building capability and excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of specific supply chain capabilities, strategies, and interdependencies to perform short and long-term business planning.
