The job requires great attention to detail as associates operate industrial chemical equipment, weigh, and add ingredients according to specifications, and document daily operations of equipment and batches. What You'll Do for Us
- Daily operation of industrial, chemical equipment and machinery safely and efficiently to produce top quality products. Responsible for maintaining equipment per manufacturer and internal specifications. (75%)
- Utilize knowledge of Pressure gauges, temperature gauges, flow meters, and rotameters to make decisions and operate machinery safely and within specification. (15%)
- Utilize a Human Machine Interface (HMI) to monitor and make changes to operating conditions. This requires the ability to navigate through many different screens.
- Responsible for proper and accurate product/package/code changes. (75%)
- Perform all Operator Clean-In-Place (CIP) and Clean-Out Of- Place (COP) duties and surface foaming with mechanical cleaning for all areas. (10%)
- Perform quality inspections on materials and finished product. Quality checks to include, codes, seals, and weights. (10%)
- Verify torque wrenches, scales, and pH meters daily. (5%)
- Maintain accurate daily production records as input to manufacturing performance analysis (10%)
- Participate in training, pre-shift meetings, team assignments and audits. (5%)
- Follow procedures for Isolating hold product or defective material. (As needed)
- Utilize Operational Excellence systems to streamline and optimize business practices. (10%)
- Comply with all standard safety practices, safety rules, and GMP rules and policies. (100%)
- Report and/or correct safety issues. Proactively, maintain proper safety conditions of equipment and surroundings. (100%)
- Drive a forklift with use of attachments for movement of drums, weights, and equipment teardowns/re-builds. (10%)
- All other duties as assigned. (As needed)
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High School Diploma required. Some advanced educational training is a plus (Associates, Certification, etc.)
- Previous experience in chemical, flavor or mechanical industries is a plus.
- Pervious forklift experience is preferred. Must have ability to certify in operating a forklift.
- Ability to work in a 24/5 environment with shift determination based on business needs, job level, and seniority at our location.
- Ability to remain agile and pivot between multiple pieces of industrial, chemical equipment.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and be capable of learning SAP Inventory Management
- Candidates must be detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
- Solid interpersonal and problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends and/or holidays as required.
Technical Skills
Mechanical knowledge: Ability to read and interpret various types of gauges and meters on different types of industrial, chemical separation equipment. Ability to make decisions and adjustments based on device read outs. Ability to proactively identify and report mechanical issues and failures with equipment.
Business Etiquette: Ability to communicate with others, via telephone or in person, in a professional and helpful manner while simultaneously building credibility and rapport. This includes the ability to understand, be diplomatic and tactful, demonstrate appropriate behavior in social situations and maintain composure in negative circumstances to achieve results.
Database and System Knowledge: The knowledge and skills required to access and collect data via Company-approved databases or the Internet. This includes the ability to complete electronic forms, produce accurate reports, conduct investigative research, explain data, and communicate results. This includes maintaining computer literacy and keeping up with new releases.
Cultural Diversity: Ability to work and leverage collective genius in a multicultural setting (including multi-generational, multi-ethnic, different educational backgrounds, etc.)

Travel Requirements
- The position is based in Apopka, Florida. Business travel seldom occurs.
