Manager, Strategic Communications (PR)
The Manager of Strategic Communication is responsible for planning, managing, and executing PR initiatives that align with the marketing strategies of assigned brands and initiatives within Coca-Cola Japan Company (CCJC). While the primary mission of this role is to make positive contributions to the business, it also plays a key part in supporting the department's overarching goal of enhancing corporate reputation.
This role requires a proactive and skilled professional capable of leading integrated PR activities across various projects, contributing to the achievement of both departmental and cross-functional objectives. Specifically, the Manager focuses on spearheading PR strategies related to marketing and brand initiatives and integrating them into CCJC's overarching communication goals. By collaborating closely with internal teams and external agencies, the Manager ensures strategic alignment, consistent messaging, and measurable outcomes, contributing to the realization of corporate and campaign-specific objectives.

Leading PR Initiatives for Assigned Marketing and Brand Projects to Drive Business Growth:
- Develop and execute comprehensive PR strategies, including campaign planning, messaging strategies, and engagement plans, that align with the goals of assigned brands or initiatives.
- Act as the PR team representative for marketing and brand campaigns, leveraging innovative storytelling techniques to enhance the presence and resonance of brands and initiatives among target audiences.
- Prioritize and execute "Big Bet" initiatives on both global and local levels, ensuring strategic consistency and alignment across all communication efforts in collaboration with internal stakeholders such as the Marketing team.
- Manage PR efforts not only for specific brands but also across multiple beverage categories. This includes planning and executing PR activities that integrate category or brand-level initiatives with channel-specific strategies to deliver significant impact.
Enhancing and Evolving PR Functions with a Data-Driven Approach:
- Build on existing PR activities, including maintaining media relationships, creating compelling PR materials (e.g., press releases, external fact books, and Q&A documents), and ensuring timely and effective PR execution for product and campaign launches.
- Measure and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as media reach across traditional and digital platforms. Evaluate outcomes against established KPIs and identify areas for optimization to ensure continuous improvement.
- Utilize insights from data to continuously refine PR strategies, integrating digital and online platforms into broader initiatives to maximize engagement, reach, and overall effectiveness of communication activities.
Contributing to Improving Corporate Reputation
- Develop and strengthen relationships with key external stakeholders such as media and third-party partners. Serve as the spokesperson for assigned areas, ensuring consistent messaging that reinforces CCJC's reputation as a trusted and innovative industry leader.
- In all marketing and brand PR activities, ensure alignment with CCJC's corporate values and long-term vision. Develop PR plans that support not only immediate business objectives but also contribute to the collective effort to enhance corporate reputation.
Fostering Collaborative Engagement Across Teams and Departments
- Actively participate in collaborative initiatives, discussions, and planning efforts to contribute constructively toward the achievement of department objectives.
- Share insights, knowledge, and best practices to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the PACS team.
- Support cross-functional projects, particularly through the integration of PR efforts with the Marketing Division, while ensuring a seamless and consistent approach to communication strategies.
What We'll Need From You:
- Approximately 10 years of professional experience, or equivalent expertise, in PR, corporate communication, marketing communication, or related fields. Experience in leading projects within multinational companies or agencies is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of planning and executing PR and communication campaigns that resulted in measurable outcomes and market impact.
- Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including marketing project leaders and external agency partners.
- PR Strategy and Execution: Strong ability to design comprehensive PR campaigns that promote consumer engagement and achieve business goals. Advanced understanding of digital media and online communication channels, with demonstrated success in effectively leveraging them.
- Leadership and Stakeholder Collaboration: Ability to independently lead PR projects with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to successfully align internal and external stakeholders.
- Data-Driven Planning: Proficiency in analyzing campaign performance data to make informed adjustments and optimize results effectively.
- Communication Skills: High-level proficiency in both verbal and written communication in Japanese (native level) and English (business level).
