As part of our dynamic Marketing and Commercial team, we are seeking a Manager, Shopper and Human Insights to help us deepen our understanding of shopper behavior and channel dynamics across key growth areas. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and is passionate about translating insights into impactful business actions.

We are looking for a collaborative and curious professional who can partner closely with our Shopper/Human Insights Director to build advanced insight frameworks and drive innovation across channels such as Vending Machines, Eat & Drink, and Online. What You'll Do for Us

  • Channel & Shopper Insights Development
    • Lead the generation and presentation of actionable shopper insights to commercial teams, focusing on the Vending Machine, Eat & Drink, and Online channels.
    • Translate insights into optimized in-market executions, including assortment strategies (brand/variant lineups, pack types/sizes, pricing) that support Revenue Growth Management (RGM) initiatives.
  • Strategic Partnership & Framework Building
    • Collaborate with the Shopper/Human Insights Director to develop advanced frameworks that deepen organizational understanding of shopper behavior and channel dynamics.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams, ensuring insights are embedded into strategic planning and execution.
  • Innovation & Ideation Leadership
    • Integrate shopper insights into the design and development of new products, product renewals, and promotional strategies.
    • Drive innovation processes by aligning solutions with market demands and enhancing competitive advantage.
  • Ad Hoc Research & Cross-Category Initiatives

  • Lead ad hoc shopper and human insights projects that respond to evolving market conditions and organizational priorities.
  • Extend research scope to include broader consumer and market insights when needed, supporting cross-category agendas and strategic initiatives.
  • Global Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
    • Participate in global insights communities to import and export winning practices across markets.
    • Foster collaboration with internal stakeholders across commercial, marketing, and analytics teams to ensure alignment and shared success.

  • What We'll Need From You

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in shopper insights, consumer research, consulting, or related fields within marketing or analytics.
    • Proven ability to define and lead insight-driven projects in ambiguous or evolving environments.
    • Strong academic background in Marketing, Analytics, Behavioral Science, or a related discipline; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
    • Demonstrated experience in translating complex data into clear business implications and actionable recommendations.
    • Expertise in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a track record of delivering high-quality outcomes under tight timelines.
    • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders across functions and geographies.
    • Experience in channel strategy, RGM, and commercial execution is highly desirable.
    • Comfortable working in a global environment, with strong cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills.
    • Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English is required.
