Manager, International Legal Entity Controller

As we continue to grow our global footprint, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manager, International Legal Entity Controller to support our Costa Europe Services entity in Poland. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and strong governance across our legal entities. The ideal candidate will bring deep accounting expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for continuous improvement.
What You'll Do for Us
- Partner with our managed service provider (Genpact) to ensure accurate daily financial transaction recording in our ERP system, with proper coding and adherence to accounting policies and local regulations.
- Support VAT return preparation and documentation collection, including export documents (IE599, CMR). Collaborate with external compliance partners for Intrastat reporting and other regulatory filings.
- Lead journal entries and reconciliations during close cycles. Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records and documentation.
- Oversee reconciliation of key accounts such as accruals, pre-payments, intercompany balances, and tax-related items. Resolve discrepancies and prepare for audit readiness.
- Prepare and review financial reports to identify issues, apply sound judgment, and ensure accurate results aligned with GAAP and other applicable standards.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP, IFRS, and local accounting standards. Stay informed on regulatory changes and implement necessary updates to financial processes.
- Maintain and enhance internal control procedures. Identify and mitigate financial risks while supporting good governance practices within the legal entity.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization and automation. Leverage financial tools and best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely availability of financial records. Address audit findings and support resolution efforts.
- Collaborate with payables, receivables, treasury, and other finance teams. Communicate clearly with external stakeholders including banking partners and auditors.
- While primarily focused on Costa Europe Services (Poland), you may be asked to support other legal entities as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, or local equivalent) or qualified by experience (QBE).
- Fluent in Polish, with the ability to communicate effectively with local stakeholders and external advisors.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including GAAP and IFRS.
- Demonstrated expertise in lease accounting, including working knowledge of IFRS 16 and ASC 842.
- Proven experience in legal entity controlling, including audit standards, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
- Hands-on experience with inventory controlling, including reconciliation and valuation processes.
- Familiarity with treasury operations, including cash flow management and banking relationships.
- Solid foundation in general accounting and Record-to-Report (RTR) processes.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to change and drive continuous process improvements.
- Experience working with external advisors for payroll, tax, and audit support.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and financial software tools.
