The primary role of the Maintenance Technician II is to provide competent and effective mechanic maintenance support to Krones Aseptic Filler and Blowmold. The ability to perform work safely, meet the needs of Operations, execute the maintenance program, and comply with all safety protocols is paramount. This Maintenance Technician II along with operating the blowmold and filler must identify, troubleshoot, and repair problems from a mechanical and process standpoint for both machines. He/she must be able to run tests, isolate problems, remove/replace failed components, determine failure modes by studying worn components and perform other tasks as necessary. He/she must also perform preventive maintenance, rebuilds, precision set-up tasks, sanitation and documentation development to support functionality of all related equipment. This position will also cover line calls for the rest of line 5.

The Maintenance Technician II - Blowmold/Filler is recognized as skilled and knowledgeable in mechanical systems and is sought out to support troubleshooting, development of process/system improvements, preventive and predictive maintenance development and contractor performance monitoring, when necessary, for new equipment or process systems.
Shift: 1st - 7:00AM - 7:30PM - 2-2-3 schedule
What You'll Do for Us
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and safe operation of equipment in like new condition.
- Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems per OEM specs.
- Consistently review and update SOPs to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality (planning, scheduling, preventive/corrective maintenance, CMMS, storeroom operations).
- Develop and follow cleaning procedures for an aseptic environment.
- Maintain equipment documentation for repairs, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
- Train operators on running the Krones Aseptic blowmolder and filler.
- Ensure spare part levels are sufficient to reduce downtime.
- Perform PET bottle processing, data collection, and recipe management.
- Utilize SAP to maintain machine performance, including quality and safety work orders.
- Apply various methods to install, align, repair, and maintain machines (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical).
- Communicate potential mechanical hazards to management and operators.
- Follow safety and security practices to maintain a safe work environment.
- Execute maintenance work schedule strategically to meet deadlines.
- Inform leadership of issues affecting operational capability.
- Seek manager assistance when work priority is unclear, or manpower is insufficient.
- Determine job scope and best approach, consulting with planner or manager as needed.
- Obtain necessary drawings and manuals, making additional sketches if needed.
- Prioritize safety needs in operations and work execution (e.g., Arc Flash, LOTO).
- Gain complete knowledge of assigned area processes.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in work execution.
- Protect product integrity and quality at all times.
- Attend meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote energy conservation.
- Keep maintenance manager informed on critical situations and seek advice when needed.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
- Perform other tasks and special assignments as requested by management.
- Maintain good relationships with teammates, managers, and plant staff.
- Supports Engineering with capital improvement projects.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Meet basic plant employment criteria, including maintaining a good attendance record.
- Achieve a passing score on the Maintenance Technician test.
- Have 3 years' experience with Krones aseptic filling and blowmolding equipment.
- Have 3 years' experience in a maintenance related field, including knowledge of hydraulics, controls, electrical, PLCs, and pneumatics.
- In-depth knowledge of aseptic processes and adherence to hygiene standards.
- Supply own tools as per the Maintenance required tool list.
- Working knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Able to read one-line diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Obtain certification on the training plan for this position within 90 working days.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work on multiple levels (catwalks, ladders, etc.) and in extreme temperatures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Manual and finger dexterity.
- Ability to visually identify defective parts.
- Ability to hear machine operation sounds to detect issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under stress.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions.
- Flexible to work up to 12-hour shifts as needed.
- Proficient in using computers and software programs.
- Perform all tasks safely to achieve Quality, Service, and Cost objectives.
- "Train the Trainer" certification or substantial experience training others in a manufacturing or production environment.
