Director, OU& Commercial Capabilities
This role is responsible for driving a fit-for-purpose Commercial capabilities agenda by designing strategy, developing execution plans for all Commercial Frontline functions in the Japan and Korea Operating Unit, based on global commercial capabilities priorities and localized business needs. Partnering closely with OU Customer & Commercial, Japan & Korea Franchise Operations, Marketing, Finance, Strategy and People & Culture teams and Global Customer & Commercial team. This role will identify and activate the priority capability levers that accelerate growth to make real IMPACT IN MARKET - including transaction increase, customer value creation, revenue growth, and margin improvement. The expectation for this role is not to create an educational platform, but to better equip the entire team to achieve business growth for the organization with strong growth mindset.

The Capability Director will serve as a key enabler to ensure that our customer-facing and commercial teams are equipped with the right capabilities, mindsets, and tools to drive sustainable growth and elevate system performance. The role will also localize and embed global capability frameworks and support end-to-end learning strategy execution, from design to deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate global Customer & Commercial capability strategies into local execution plans for Japan and Korea, ensuring alignment with OU growth ambitions and market-specific dynamics. This includes the integration of global commercial strategies such as Availability, Basket Incidence, Coolers, 360 Integrated Activation and RGMX into the local capability roadmap.
- Diagnose key capability gaps and opportunities by using business data, function input, and external benchmarks.
- Design and lead platform that build critical capabilities in key areas such as:
- Revenue Growth & Margin Expansion
- Customer Value Proposition
- System & Industry Financial acumen
- Storytelling for stakeholders
- Retail Media Network, End-to-End Shopper experience
- Route-To-Market, new business model
- System End-to-End execution
- Digital & AI-driven solution
- Joint Sustainability action with customers
- Collaborate closely with relevant functions to ensure capability-building plans are integrated into business routines and customer engagement agendas.
- Serve as the local steward of global capability platforms and resources, driving engagement and adoption, coordinate with Platform Services, OU Learning Leads, and Global C&C team to ensure local teams benefit from existing tools and share local insights for future development.
- Measure and track learning effectiveness and business impact through relevant KPIs and feedback loops.
- Support talent and succession strategies for commercial-facing roles by identifying future-fit skills and learning journeys.
- Promote a culture of growth, learning, and cross-market knowledge sharing across the Japan & Korea Commercial Frontline functions.
Candidate Profile
- Strong growth mindset and passion for the System business growth
- Understanding of the business needs, challenges & opportunities ideally with experience of supporting or working within Customer, Commercial or Franchise functions yet not mandatory.
- A collaborative, enterprise-first mindset with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and influence without authority.
- Learning agility and the ability to translate business strategy into capability solutions.
- Strategic thinking with strong executional discipline - comfortable moving between high-level design and hands-on implementation.
- Effective communication skills across cultures, functions, and levels.
Experience & Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in FMCG or B2B including Commercial, Strategy, Capability or Talent & Development.
- Experience working in or supporting multi-functional teams (Sales, RGM, Marketing, etc.).
- Familiarity with the Coca-Cola system or matrix organizations is a plus.
- Strong project management and change management skills.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Business-level English required; Japanese or Korean language capability preferred.
- Business Travel: 10% (depending on the base-location)
