The Engineering Strategy and Operations (ES&O) organization has an exciting opportunity for a proactive Business Operations Manager to lead the Technical Writing Team. This role involves understanding the importance of collaboration, technical writing and Boeing's document business architecture. This position is located in Mesa, Arizona.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Leads a team of technical writers supporting engineering documentation, running the gamut from enterprise-wide policies and procedures, down to site or model-specific supplemental processes
  • Develops and drives project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, collaborators, peers, partners and employees
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Leads, develops and motivates employees
  • Exercises critical thinking and innovative problem solving
  • Acts as the initial point of escalation for issues or challenges encountered by the team; effectively triages and de-escalates issues
  • Analyzes metrics and trends to influence team strategy and performance
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  • Manages a team of roughly 15+ direct reports

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. The current expectation for the team is working onsite 2-3 days per week.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing a team
  • Experience supporting cross functional teams
  • Experience communicating and collaborating directly with internal or external customers, peers, other employees, and all levels of leadership

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years of experience in teaching, coaching and developing others
  • Technical writing experience
  • Adobe Workfront experience
  • Experience building professional partnerships
  • Team building skills

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range: $112,200 - $151,800.
