Boeing Defence UK operates an engineering matrix Organisation consisting of engineering departments that deliver technical skills, expertise and products into our programmes. One of the Departments is the Product Support Engineering (ILS Engineering) which provides the product supportability infrastructure comprising the following technical areas: Logistic Support Analysis, Reliability and Maintainability, Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis, Engineering Data Exploitation, Obsolescence Management, Integrated Logistic Support Engineering and Technical Publications.

The Supply Chain Support Engineer will support the P-8A Programmes Supply Chain through the ILS Lead and will be responsible for:

• The review of engineering changes to Programme Baselines, advising Supply Chain of spares changes.

• Review of Technical Documentation to assist in the resolution of alternative solutions for long lead time orders.

• Providing the initial response to Supply Chain for immediate Technical Queries related to the provision and use of parts on aircraft.

• Work in close conjunction with the FSR team in resolving initial issues.

• Work in close conjunction with the Global Team and Authority to ensure correct changes are recommended to the Air-System Document Set.

• Support contingency planning and requirements to take projects smoothly into Sustainment.

• Mentoring Supply Chain Team members in the use of Technical Information.

• Oversight of Supplier requirements and SSOW development including liaising with SEIT to support.

• Work as directed by the ILS Lead, through the local Supply Chain Lead/Manager.

Required Qualifications (Experience/Education/Skills):

• Previous practical experience in Aircraft maintenance (preferably military fixed wing will be an advantage).

• Previous P-8A or other 737 derivative experience will be an advantage.

• Experience of Logistics Support Analysis with the use of a LSAR.

• Support Engineering/Integrated Logistical Support related work experience.

• Essential to be able to obtain UK SC security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications (Experience/Education/Skills):

• Ability to use the Air-System Document Set, including Technical Drawings.

• An understanding of Support Engineering in the Military environments.

• Logistics Support Analysis (Spares Engineering).

• An ability to read and understand Aircraft Drawing sets.

• Authoring of Support Product documentation.

• Ideally you will be educated to degree level in a relevant Engineering subject.

• Ability to work with the cross functional business stakeholders to identify optimisation opportunities and ways in which suppliers can enhance our offering to our clients.

• Ability to liaise with the OEM platform side of Boeing to integrate the UK solutions with those that exist on the base platforms.

• Proven ability to drive first time quality.

• Experience of working with international support standards such as Def Stan 00-600, ASD/AIA Suite of S Series ILS Specifications is desirable.
