An exciting opportunity has become available to join Boeing Poland(Jeppesen, A Boeing Company) as Mid-to Senior Level Software Quality Engineer supporting Boeing AvionX programs, based in Poland.

Position overview:
Our team of highly-motivated Software Quality Engineers partner with software development teams to create a culture of compliance and first-time quality throughout the software lifecycle. As a member of this team, you have the autonomy and responsibility to work with programs to help maintain compliance to processes and standards, ultimately reducing program risk and improving the quality of our software products.

A successful candidate will be experiences in Agile and have a broad background in software development practices, tools, and processes. Working knowledge of DO-178 and AS9115 is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills including English, are crucial for success.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Actively participates in program activities, from initial proposal and planning to verification/certification and delivery. This includes the development of the SQE plan.
  • Verifies software lifecycle activities and products comply with approved software processes, plans, and standards
  • Performs DO-178 based Software Conformity Reviews and supports other program milestone reviews
  • Identifies process or product non-compliances; supports root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions and other defect investigation/prevention activities
  • Acts as an independent set of eyes and ears for Program Managers and the customer, highlighting potential best practices on the team, as well as areas for improvement
  • Supports the identification and analysis of program/project software quality metrics to improve software quality and manage risk
  • Mentors less experienced engineers in Software Quality Engineering best practices and requirements.

Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • 5+ years' experience with the software development lifecycle (requirements analysis, design, code, integration & test)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Software quality assurance / software quality engineering experience
  • Knowledge of AS9115 and DO-178 requirements
  • Hands-on experience as a software developer or software test engineer
  • Involvement with products developed using Agile software development practices
  • Experience with DevSecOps and associated tools

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+2 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).

This requisition is for a locally hired position in POLAND. Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Poland. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll
