The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer Analyst to support Boeing Global Services (BGS). BGS is a dedicated services business focused on the needs of Global Defense, Space, Commercial, business and general aviation customers. In this position the candidate researches, analyzes, and compiles technical data for company products and system-level concepts in the projected operational environments to optimize effectiveness over the program lifecycle. This role applies systems engineering processes, methodologies and tools to the design of system of systems, systems and new product development. Derives and develops architectures, functional requirements, refinements and product designs. Assists in the integration of technical, cost, value, risks and specialty engineering considerations into definition of the product. The team is seeking a future technical leader to join the team as an understudy to learn from current technical leadership. The program has unique technical challenges and a wide variety of technical scope.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a geographically dispersed, cross-functional team to reach decisions that are mutually acceptable to multiple engineering and support teams
  • Develop and document systems-level architecture and design using a Model Based Systems Engineering (MSBE) Approach and tools
  • Develop, support, and lead the execution of systems-level concept of operations, system and subsystem requirements, and system level verification.
  • Conduct system level design, analysis, architecture and requirements trade studies
  • Support program, customer and supplier requirement and design reviews
  • Prepare and publish contractually required Documentation, including specifications and verification reports
  • Development of systems design and interfaces, requirements analysis and definition, systems integration, end user interaction, unit testing, and validation/verification.
  • Clearly communicate technical information to other engineers and to management.
  • Support the team as a lead engineer providing coaching/mentoring and constructive feedback to drive high-quality deliverables.
  • Serve as the lead engineer on projects and manage related project activity.
  • Generate system requirements and performance specifications.
  • Identify and track risks to technical execution.
  • Conduct major system requirements and preliminary/final design reviews
  • Responsible for ensuring the success of critical technical milestones including Shop Turnover, Hardware Checkout, Hardware/Software Loading, Troubleshooting, Testing, and Fielding.
  • Responsible for coordinating engineering activities such as software loading, and defect management during system integration and test phases.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams in an integrated team environment.
  • Conduct analysis, perform trade studies, and develop technical recommendations.
  • Problem solving and supporting other engineers in a team environment.
  • Candidate exercises considerable latitude in providing technical solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and creativity, and is recognized as an expert within the department or organization

This is a hybrid position that allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 9+ years of experience in systems engineering
  • Experience in a role that required effective verbal and written communication

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 5 or more year's related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10 or more year's related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience within System level designs with familiarity of engineering processes and methods
  • Clear understanding and Systems design and schematics
  • Experience working with cross functional teams
  • Experience with requirements management software/Hardware (e.g. DOORS) AND/OR Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Model Based Engineering through-out the development lifecycle.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management
  • Experience working within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other agile development environment
  • Experience with Verification/Validation and Systems Integration

Typical Education/ Experience:

Senior (Level 4)

Technical bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Senior (Level 5)

Technical bachelor's degree and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Senior (Level 6)

Technical bachelor's degree and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 18 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 15 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
