The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior System Engineering Lead 5: F-22 Systems Engineering to join their team in Berkeley, MO. The F-22 Raptor program is well positioned to provide long-term growth opportunities and is committed to an employee focused culture and presence at the St. Louis site supporting the premier 5th generation Air Force fighter.

A successful candidate will be an assertive, resourceful leader who is self-motivated and displays intellectual curiosity while expecting results with urgency. This individual must work well under minimal supervision and general guidance, and be able to integrate effectively with key stakeholders to meet program objectives. They must have a proven track record of effective team building and customer relations.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Systems Engineering team by providing the strategy and vision, delegating responsibilities, prioritizing efforts and managing the budgets of both Modernization and Sustainment contracts.
  • Lead the Systems Engineering team to obtain a high level of coordination with the design, software, and test teams in Mission Systems to ensure complete traceability from requirements to test artifact.
  • Apply basic systems engineering rigor to agile processes for new development and redesign activities.
  • Work with the project teams to ensure process rigor on Air Vehicle and Mission Systems projects.
  • Work with project management teams to develop and submit supplier statement of works.
  • Prepare and present outcomes, assessments, improvements and corrective action initiatives to Boeing management and senior customer leadership.
  • Evaluate customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements. The F-22 program - Boeing, with our Lockheed Martin teammates and our USAF Customer - is using Agile principles to sustain and modernize the platform.
  • Work closely with the project managers and act as the technical lead on the F-22 projects through proposals and execution.
  • Develop and lead the execution of Statements of Work (SOW) to satisfy study and analysis activities, develop new and follow on concepts that will expand capabilities of the F-22 weapon system.
  • Communicate technical and program information across multi-disciplined teams.
  • Makes customers and their needs a primary focus of one's actions.
  • Demonstrates an interest in personal learning and development. Seeks feedback from multiple sources about how to improve and develop; modifies behavior based on feedback or self-analysis of past mistakes. Takes steps to develop and maintain the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform.
  • Provide products and services that meet the highest technical and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and processes and embrace first-time quality as a way of life - not accepting, creating or passing any defects and speaking up

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 5+ years of experience in areas of systems engineering (This can be in areas such as requirements, design, implementation, test, verification, validation, integration, risk management)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering
  • Experience evaluating customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements
  • Experience in program/project engineering, requirements writing/management, risk management
  • Experience in Agile Process
  • Experience with system integration and applying engineering principles so that the systems can be effectively integrated
  • Experience in a role that required strong communication skills and working across teams to coordinate work scope

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary Pay Range: $147,050- $198,950
