The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Senior Structural Analyst to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the Airborne Surveillance Command and Control (ASC2), Bombers, or the Executive Transport Services & Systems (ETS&S) programs.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Plans and organizes structural analysis work at the program level to assure total compliance with structural integrity and stability requirements
  • Develops, integrates and documents complex or unique structural requirements to establish the system design
  • Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment
  • Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance of the product
  • Works with customers and regulatory agencies to define certification processes that will ensure requirements are met
  • Reviews and approves certification results
  • Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Defines and organizes test programs to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
  • Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort
  • Investigates emerging technologies to develop future product designs to meet projected requirements
  • Works under consultative direction

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 12 years of experience with Finite Element Models (FEM)
  • Able to independently construct, execute, review, and manage structural finite element models
  • 12 or more years of experience in structural analysis

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance
  • Experience with Hypermesh, Abaqus CAE, and/or Nastran
  • Experience validating or verifying finite element model results
  • Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams/projects
  • 5+ years of experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques)
  • 5+ years of experience with Aircraft Primary Structures on Boeing Commercial Derivatives - Commercial and/or Military applications (737, 747, 757, 767 & 777)
  • 5+ years of experience Certification/Verification Engineer
  • 5+ years of experience with Boeing Commercial Derivatives methods: Books 1 - 4, FAA certification, Part 25 (25.571), Part 26, Alternative methods of compliance (AMOCs), Service Bulletins (SB/Ads)

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
