BDUK is responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK Defence customers including E-7 AEW&C, P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, C4ISTAR Services, Through Life Support for the Chinook and Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services and Training Services.

The roles:

We are recruiting a number of Senior Level Managers to support our fixed-wing contracts with responsibility for delivering BDUK work scope. Reporting to BDUK and Boeing Defence Services Directors these roles will act as the primary point of interface with senior MoD personnel.

The successful candidates will establish and maintain a focused programme management culture and drive programme performance in order to achieve or exceed customer and business objectives and outcomes.

The Programme Managers will have P&L responsibility, setting and implementing execution strategy and will lead all associated aspects of Contract / programme performance. They will have line management responsibility for the core team of delivery PMs, ensuring that functional excellence and best practices are employed across the programme.

These positions will hold a senior level relationship within the customer community and within Boeing and must be able to set expectations, manage and influence key stakeholders.

As a member of the BDS and BDUK Fixed Wing Leadership Teams, the Programme Managers will be required to build effective and collaborative relationships with members of these teams and other stakeholders and will be responsible for ensuring we work together across all activities and reporting to remain aligned with our customer, sub-contractors and suppliers

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelors or Master's degree or equivalent in an industry aligned subject with extensive work experience in the defence industry or within a relevant Government Department.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience of successful programme delivery with first-class leadership and motivational skills to fully integrate a cross functional leadership team
  • Ability to establish a working environment that creates and inspires high performing individuals and teams with a range of experience and technical ability
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills, with a strong knowledge of functional disciplines and experience of managing supply chain partners.
  • Extensive experience and a proven track record in leading large, complex Contracts/Programmes involving multiple complex and interrelated projects, high degrees of uncertainty and/or unpredictability and multiple interdependent and international stakeholders in order to ensure we deliver against our customer commitments.
  • Experience in managing a portfolio of projects and demonstrate the technical application of detailed prioritisation and problem solving in a dynamic programme environment.
  • Experience managing programmes within the Defence and/or Aerospace/Training sector and more specifically in delivery of large military fixed wing aircraft
  • Familiar with a wide range of specialised processes, tools and materials, including industry recognised systems to manage programmes, manage risks, issues & opportunities, contracts, change processing and estimating.

Security: The candidate must hold SC and either hold DV or accept the need for this to be achieved, requiring minimum 5 years continuous residency in the UK

Work Authorisation: This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
