The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is looking for a Product Repair/Mod Technician Level 2 to support the Dynamic Commercial Crew Team at Kennedy Space Center, FL.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Disassembles systems components to support the correction of failures or implement changes.
  • Performs routine troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
  • Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
  • Inspects component before installation or usage to verify cleanliness and serviceability of components.
  • Fabricates and modifies aerospace products according to specifications.
  • Performs tasks associated with the safe handling of a aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations).
  • Works under general supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 1 year minimum experience with electrical/electronic troubleshooting, routing, splicing, connectors, bundle dressing, etc.
  • 1 year minimum experience working with Human Spaceflight hardware
  • 1 year minimum experience with spacecraft manufacturing, assembly, modification, and repair, with vast knowledge of repair, maintenance, and retrofit processes and procedures
  • Proficient in the use and operation of electrical and/or instrumentation test equipment
  • Read and understand basic engineering drawings and specifications
  • Basic computer skills required including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Must be familiar in the use of Electronic Work Order / Planning systems
  • Current skills certifications / training
  • Experienced with the use of a calibration recall system
  • Experienced in both electrical and mechanical calibration disciplines
  • Verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Familiar with the following standards: ISO / IEC 17025 and ANSI / NCSL Z540.1 / Z540.3

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate)
