Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works is seeking a Low Observable (LO) Lead Antenna Design Engineer to join our team in Berkeley, MO. This position is part of the Integrated Advanced Systems (IAS) team within Phantom Works supporting multiple proprietary programs.

The LO Lead Antenna Design Engineer will be responsible for developing novel approaches to achieve required antenna patterns, peak gain and other antenna parameters. In addition to antenna design, this role is responsible for test plan development and range coordination to confirm analysis predictions with measured antenna data.

As a senior member of the team, this role will include mentoring of junior engineers on proper analysis and testing techniques. The individual selected for this role should be comfortable leading other antenna design engineers to solve highly complex integration challenges.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Design of antennas and radio frequency / microwave systems
  • Optimization of designs to improve antenna performance
  • Use of computational Electromagnetic tools (i.e., CST, HFSS, etc.)
  • Build and prototype of antennas and radio frequency / microwave systems
  • Performance testing of antennas and radio frequency / microwave systems
  • Use of RF test equipment (i.e., Vector Network Analyzer, Signal Generator, etc.)
  • Mentoring and training of early career engineers
  • Strategy development for new antenna technologies and IRAD investment

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 5 or more years of experience working in RF measurements, Antenna Theory/test, and/or material measurements and characterization
  • 5 or more years of experience applying electromagnetic theory to develop new antenna and radome types and technologies
  • Experience working with test equipment including RF (radio frequency) sources, power meters, and spectrum analyzers
  • Experience leading or managing engineering design projects

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: 118,150 - 159,850
