Boeing Information Technology - Engineering Systems team is seeking a Junior Software Developer to support our Product Standards development team in Charleston, South Carolina. This organization supports the development and maintenance of Boeing's suite of Product Standards software.

In this role, you will work with a balanced development team including developers, product managers, and architects to build and maintain Boeing's core engineering standards application suite. These applications enable our engineering and customer communities to make safe, efficient, and standard engineering decisions across the broad portfolio of Boeing products.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Implement, document, and maintain applications within the Product Standards portfolio.
  • Support the development and implementation of a new Product Standards data framework.
  • Provide support for production deployments and migrations.
  • Participate in stakeholder discussions and requirement-building exercises.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
  • Java development experience
  • Experience working with Unix/Linux environments
  • Understanding of modern web application development
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Experience working in an Agile team setting

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience in the following skills is a plus:
    • XML
    • XSD Schemas
    • XSL Transformations
    • XPath and XQuery for XML
    • Understanding of Client/Server architectures

Typical Education/Experience: Technical bachelor's degree and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary Range: $73,100 - $105,800
