An exciting new role has opened up within Boeing Research & Technology for a Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer. The successful applicant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team directly supporting research and development programs.

BR&T-A is the research arm of the Boeing Company in Australia. As part of BR&T-A, you will be conducting research to develop flight guidance, navigation and control systems.
This role is based in Melbourne.
As a Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer you will
- Conduct research into the development of novel strategies for aircraft guidance, navigation and control;
- Implement solutions to challenging flight simulation and control problems through application of existing processes used within the Boeing company;
- Develop tools for simulation and performance assessment of aircraft.
- Apply Model-based engineering principles to design workflows to enhance first time quality for Guidance, Navigation and Control development.
About You
This is an early career role where considerable on the job training will be provided, so a demonstrated ability to adapt, learn and solve complex problems will be critical to success. It is anticipated that different applicants will bring strengths from different domains. To be considered for this role you must
- Hold a tertiary degree qualification in Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering or a related discipline
- Be effective as a team participant
- Have outstanding analytical skills
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be an Australian citizen and be eligible to obtain a security clearance
The following criteria are desirable, but not essential:
- Hold a higher-degree (Master or PhD), or demonstrable equivalent research experience
- Have a familiarity with one or more of the following:
- flight mechanics
- aerodynamics
- air vehicle, robot, automotive or marine systems design, simulation and/or control
- guidance, navigation and control algorithms for any type of vehicle
- the theory and application of mathematical control theory
- model-based systems engineering
