Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is searching for a Fixed Wing - Supply Chain Operations Manager in the locations noted (UK). This role will be to lead the Fixed Wing Supply Chain Operations team for Major Projects, responsible for the "Fulfil/Return" Capability for the BDUK Fixed Wing business unit and responsible for inventory management, demand management and warehouse management. The Fixed Wing business unit is an area of significant growth within BDUK and this role represents a great opportunity to develop the supply chain strategies to support this growth, develop the team and build a strong and capable UK supply chain to meet the needs of the Fixed Wing business and Customer requirements. This role will report to the Senior Manager for BDUK Fixed Wing Supply Chain. This is a Hybrid Role with an expectation of on average 3 days in the office per week.

Responsibilities
  • First Line Manager responsible for Fixed Wing Supply Chain Operations capability across all supply chain sustainment activities on Fixed Wing Major Projects.
  • The role will be responsible for a team of approximately 10, with scope for further growth and responsibility for the team member's growth and professional development.
  • Lead team members performing activities related to management of inventory, demand response and satisfaction, warehousing and logistics. This team will be maintaining Target Stock Levels, evolving Material Flow and Warehousing strategy, as well as Import/export compliance and the shipment of Dangerous Goods.
  • Lead cross functionally to develop a suite of key demand satisfaction and supply chain dashboards utilizing SAP and Tableau.
  • Advise both Internal and External customers on supply chain solution shaping.
  • People Management - staffing, employee development, coordinating employee training and supporting all programme and functional objectives.
  • Management of contract key performance indicators, including provision of material on time, provision of Mission and Flight Critical spares, Programme financial performance and audit compliance (Internal, UK MoD, prt 145 and external auditors).
  • Adept practitioner of Seek, Speak and Listen/Psychological Safety principles across all activities whether people or programme focused.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, suppliers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. This will include all areas of the Boeing Company across international and subsidiaries.
  • The identification and implementation of Best and Emergent Supply Chain Operations Practices in collaboration with the Functional Excellence team.
  • Delivering cost reduction on annual basis through the delivery of improvements and efficiencies through the Fixed Wing supply chain

Essential Qualifications And Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years Supply Chain experience, ideally in management and leadership roles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to operate at all levels within an organisation to manage stakeholders including Suppliers and Customers
  • Experience in leading proposals, contract terms and conditions development, and negotiation efforts
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience supporting and leading cross-functional teams
  • Ability to be self-directed in work and/or previous experience in a self-directed role
  • Strong business acumen and adept problem solving ability
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to obtain UK SC security clearance
  • Communication skills and customer focus are critical to be successful in the role

Desired Qualifications And Experience
  • University degree preferred
  • Experience supporting proposal preparation for UK government contracts

Work Authorisation: This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security Clearance for which the UK Government requires UK residency. The successful candidate will hold, or have the ability to obtain, Security Clearance (SC).
