The Boeing Customer Support Center located inSeal Beach, CAis currently seekingEntry Level Mechanical Systems Customer Support Engineerswith knowledge of airplane design and engineering principles who can perform challenging, exciting, and dynamic engineering work.

Mechanical Systems Customer Support Engineers work to address and resolve in-service airplane system issues. In this role, you will also be tasked with working directly with airline customers to analyze system issues, write technical documents, inform airline customers of status/resolution, and monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Assess and resolve product/process issues through the product life-cycle.
  • Leads research of technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer.
  • Designs and/or provides analysis of interim and final engineering solutions to return airplanes to revenue service.
  • Works with and possibly directs cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis and develops dispositions for complex design non-conformance.
  • Assesses complex system events reports to determine potential safety issues.
  • Develops and implements product/process improvements.
  • Writes documentation of hardware related problems.
  • Participates in activities for on-site disabled product repair teams.
  • Develops customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Solves problems and provides other support of fielded hardware over the entire product life-cycle.
  • Works with others to develop program test strategies.
  • Manages performance of critical suppliers to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
  • Conducts program independent reviews and reports results to program leadership.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Do you have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Structural, Civil or Aerospace Engineering or Physics from an ABET accredited program?
  • Are you willing to be on call 24x7 as required to support emergent airline customer requirements?

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience working with cross discipline engineering teams?
  • Experience with Boeing 7-Series Aircraft
  • Customer support or customer service experience?

Typical Education & Experience:

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

The position requires flexibility to address emergent issues and important airline meetings off-hours and may require an occasional off-shift work schedule to support the fleet operating 24 hours/7 days a week/365 days of the year.

Summary pay range: $68,000- $92,000
