The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Electrical & Electronic Systems Design Engineer to support Project Currawong (LAND 2072 Phase 2B) which is delivering the next generation of deployable land-based communications capabilities to the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

About You:
  • Demonstrate safety leadership in all aspects of your role
  • Proactive with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Willing to be flexible with types of tasks completed - versatile and engaged
  • Demonstrate technical excellence through adherence to policies and procedures
Responsibilities:
  • Development of diverse engineering solutions for Electrical and Electronic equipment and custom electrical power, simulation and control systems (AS3000 experience desirable).
  • Installation of system hardware infrastructure and associated connectivity.
  • Development of engineering documentation and configuration management of system hardware infrastructure
Experience/Qualifications

Essential:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Demonstrated skills in complex electrical/electronic systems development, from concept through to production acceptance.
  • Demonstrated skills in writing technical reports and developing documentation related to electrical/electronic systems.
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of Altium Designer or alternative ECAD software for Schematic Capture and PCB Layouts.
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of electronic simulation software such as SPICE, or simulation extensions of ECAD software such as Altium Designer
  • Demonstrated skills in development of production drawings and materials for the production of Cable & Wire Harnesses, PCBs and CCAs.
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of Configuration Management tools such as bit-bucket, SVN, Team-Centre, E-Matrix.
  • Demonstrated skill in Systems Engineering process and documentation.
  • Knowledge of Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) concepts.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes for Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs).
  • Embedded C, python and FreeRTOS programming
  • ARM microcontroller experience
Desirable
  • Fluent in the use of Altium Designer for High Density Interconnect (HDI) PCB Layouts
  • Experience in the design and development of multi-board electronic systems.
  • Experience in the design and development if flexible, and rigid-flex PCB designs.
  • Experience in the design of high power and high efficiency switch mode power supplies.
