As a Database Engineer at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics, you will be responsible for:

  • Architect and develop new database systems
  • Tune Oracle databases to improve the performance of the database and its components
  • Develop software for:
  • Data analysis
  • PL/SQL packages and triggers
  • Build Extract, Translate, and Load (ETL) scripts
  • Support database upgrades, migration issues, and repair corruption

Experience and Qualifications:

To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:

Required Education and Years of Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Five (5) years of experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree
  • 20 years' experience (25 with no qualifying bachelor's degree) with:
    • Providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex software systems to include requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, conducting system requirements reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standards, developing system architectures, and perform technical assessment
    • Developing system engineering documentation, such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents
    • Conducting and/or approving end-to-end system trade analyses optimizing system operations over its life-cycle
    • Developing system design alternatives considering life cycle cost, reuse, complexity, risk, system expansion, and growth
    • Developing alternative courses of action, workarounds, and fall-back positions with recommended course of action for each risk, and monitor and re-evaluate risks at appropriate milestones
    • Improving standard integration strategies based upon rational for previous decisions that resulted in improved integration performance
    • Fully defining interfaces in terms of origination, destination, stimulus, and data characteristics for software
Required Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
  • Experience with Oracle database administration and engineering applications
  • Experience with Extract, Translate, and Load (ETL) operations and an understanding of dataflow into Oracle
  • Understanding of TechSIGINT data

Summary Pay Range:

Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

$210,000 - $235,000
